Sculpture by the Sea

Thousands of Visitors Viewing the Sculpture by the Sea

Spring in Sydney this year may be actually warmer and more beautiful than summer. Thankfully, we took full advantage of the gorgeous weather just in time for Sydney's Sculpture By The Sea.

Sculpture by the Sea is an annual event at the turn of the spring to summer season. It is a showcase of amazing sculptures by local talent along the Eastern Suburbs beaches of Bondi to Tamarama.

Last year, we were sure to go and this year was no question especially with the wonderful weather we have been experiencing. The city even delayed the show to make sure Prince Frederik and Princess Mary of Denmark (Australian born) could be there when she came for a visit.

We arrived at 11am and there were already hundreds of people sharing the sidewalk between the two beaches. We took our time to enjoy all the amazing works of art. This year's was exceptional with more literal sculptures rather than abstract.

We walked past Tamarama and continued on for 5km to Coogee Beach where we took in the rest of the sunny Saturday arvo (Australian lingo for afternoon).

If you ever get a chance to visit Australia, try to come in early November and catch the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition.
