Artsy evening stroll

What we thought was a frying pan, was actually a magnifying glass
The yellow archway acts like a finish line counting each person who walks through.

I won at the Melbourne Cup! I bet $5 on Protectionist to place and it did! I won $15, but did spend $27 on office sweeps and other TAB bets.

But that wasn't the best part of the day. While everyone kicked on after the 3pm race that stops the nation, Dave and I decided to leave work right on time to get to Tamarama Beach where Sculpture by the Sea was held. The art festival lasts only two weeks in the last month of Spring. Tourist season is picking up, so no matter what day you go, there's always foot traffic.

So going on Melbourne Cup day would be our best bet to get decent shots without the hassle of crowded sidewalks.

The evening was perfect for this artsy stroll. The air was balmy. The air was warm, yet breezy enough to calm our sweat glands. And the sun was setting.

Sculpture by the Sea is one of my favourite Sydney events of the year. There's always funky artwork always worth instagramming. Of the 100 odd art pieces, these are my faves. Enjoy and try to go next year!

The guy is just too cool.

The most impressive wood carving - so life like.

Huge chains and they stay up.

Life size newspaper ants watching your every move.

Sea gunk washed ashore. They're actually tons of bottle tops.

How do you describe wine?

Wood transformers. I actually saw this artist's work at the opening of the Sydney Fringe Festival. Tres cool.

Watch the birdy.

Rhino at the beach.

Don't these belong underwater?

Spectrum of light or string.
